Happy New Year and welcome back to Tesfa!
We hope you had a fun and relaxing winter break and are ready to be back at school. We are so excited to see you again and all of our teachers have many wonderful things planned for you this week.
As you know, Ms. Becky is taking a very courageous step and moving to another country with her family and will no longer be the Director of Tesfa. However, you will still see her around the building this week because she is helping Ms. Nicole and me learn how to do her job while she is gone. Be sure to show her your appreciation this week for all the many wonderful things she has done to support the students, teachers and families at Tesfa. We will miss her tremendously, but luckily technology such as this blog, Skype and email can help us communicate even when she is across the globe.
We call January “Re-Month” because this is the time of year that we revise our Hopes and Dreams, revisit our Essential Agreements, and review the many routines and procedures we have been practicing throughout the building and in our classrooms. Over the next few weeks you and your teacher will be reviewing the things that help us to be safe and learn. It is important to be reflective of all the hard work we have done so far this year and to be committed to reaching our goals for the rest of the year.
I know that each of you can work hard and develop the knowledge, skills and mindsets necessary for a successful second half of the school year. Be curious, take risks, and believe in yourself! Have a great start to the new year.
And as Ms. Becky would say….stay curious!
