Happy Spring Scholars!
Yesterday was the first day of spring! As Earth revolves around the sun, there are two moments each year when the sun is exactly above the equator. These moments — called “equinoxes” — happen in March and September. Days and nights are approximately EQUAL everywhere and the sun rises and sets due east and west. I cannot wait for the weather to get warmer and flowers to grow again!
Yesterday was also the International Day of Happiness, a global campaign coordinated by Action of Happiness and supported by people in over 160 different countries. It was a day about attitudes and how our world should focus more on shifting priorities to improve happiness around the world. Let’s celebrate happiness today by making a choices to smile more and show enthusiasm and appreciation for ourselves and others.
As PYP students and teachers, we enter the building each day ready to learn, ask questions, explore and take action. The IB mission statement says:
The International Baccalaureate aims to develop inquiring, knowledgeable and caring young people who help to create a better and more peaceful world through intercultural understanding and respect.
How are you living the PYP Profile and taking action? I would love to hear from our scholars!
Please remind your families that we do not have school this Friday, March 25!
