Happy Fall Friends!
It is the season of falling leaves, fresh air, and fun outdoor adventures. The weather outside is turning colder so please plan to come to school dressed appropriately. You may choose to wear a sweater in school colors over your collared shirt but remember, hoods are not allowed!
Tesfa adults are here to teach you and to help keep you safe. However, there are times when a Tesfa adult may not be looking. You need to have integrity and do what is right, even when you think no one is watching. If an adult tells you to make a different choice, show respect by following directions.
Every student at Tesfa International School deserves to feel safe. Students show they are safe by learning to solve problems peacefully. Hitting, pushing, shoving and any other physical contact are hurtful actions and never help to solve problems. We need to have self-control and keep our hands, feet and bodies to ourselves.
Being a communicator can help others understand what you need. If you need someone to change their behavior, offer them an “I-Statement”. An example of an “I-Statement could look like this:
I feel annoyed because you keep distracting me when I am working. I need you to stop talking to me when I am trying to learn.”
When trying to solve a problem with a friend, try using an “I-Statement”.
