Tesfa means hope in Amharic. Hope means to have a feeling of expectation and desire for a certain thing to happen. We know that children can succeed with effort, high expectations and rich, authentic learning experiences. Our hope is to institute transformational change in education. We dream for a school environment that allows children to be their authentic selves.
This hope has given us the courage to create an educational environment that offers rich, authentic learning experiences, taught by adults with growth mindsets resulting in high expectations for each and every child.
Our program is unique in that it is foundationally rooted in the inquiry based approach of the International Baccalaureate Program, has an emphasis on the use of technology to provide instructional differentiation, and encompasses a holistic approach to behavior management which results in a calm, academic school culture.
The IB Primary Years Program will serve as a foundation for creating a rigorous learning environment for each and every student. Tesfa firmly believes it is imperative that every staff member supports the vision and mission of the school and strongly values the importance of intensive professional development surrounding access and equity in education.
